Marriage schedule
After the ceremony is finished you are asked to check and sign the marriage schedule. It is important that you check this document carefully before signing. If a mistake is found at a later date and you require a correction to be made, a fee of up to £99 is payable.
If you are going to change your name after your ceremony, you still need to sign the schedule using the name you contracted the marriage in. The schedule needs to be signed using your maiden name, this may be the last time you sign a document using this name. Once your marriage schedule has been signed and marriage registered, your marriage certificate will provide the documentation you need to evidence a name change.
