Apply for your venue to be approved for marriage

We will accept applications from venues that -

• are built premises comprising at least one room, or any boat or other vessel which is permanently moored
• are places that are dignified
• have no recent or current connection with any religion
• have one room which is for the sole use of the proceedings from one hour before the ceremony, even if a temporary structure such as a marquee
• have unrestricted access for the public to witness the marriage and/or make an objection without a fee
• meet disabled access requirements

Legal marriages or civil partnerships can be performed outside providing it is within the boundary of the registered venue and there is a room available inside to use should weather force the ceremony indoors.
